## 1. Live Class Management

### 1.1 Schedule Live Teaching Sessions
**What it does:** Lets the Super Administrator create, schedule, and manage live teaching sessions: define the session (title, subject, topic, teacher, date/time, duration), assign the eligible audience (grade, subject, subscription tier), and control the session lifecycle (scheduled, live, completed, cancelled).

**Sub-features:**
- Session creation: title, subject, topic/chapter, teacher, date/time, duration
- Audience assignment: by grade, subject, subscription tier, or explicit student list
- Recurring sessions: weekly/periodic scheduling with a defined end
- Session lifecycle: scheduled → live → completed, or cancelled
- Calendar integration: session dates synced to Google Calendar/Outlook
- Conflict detection: overlapping sessions for the same teacher or audience flagged
- Available on web
- Event logging (action performed)
- Audit logging of live class scheduling

**Super Admin User Journey:**
1. Super Admin opens Live Sessions → Live Classes and creates a new session: title, subject, topic, teacher, date/time, duration.
2. Assigns the audience (e.g., Grade 10 Mathematics subscribers) and sets recurrence if the session repeats.
3. The platform checks for conflicts (teacher double-booking, audience overlap) and flags any found.
4. Super Admin publishes the session; it appears in the students' schedules and is synced to their calendars.
5. At session time the session goes live; after it ends it is marked completed.
6. If the session must be cancelled, Super Admin cancels it; enrolled students are notified.
7. Each scheduling action is event-logged and audit-logged.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- A session cannot be scheduled in the past.
- A teacher cannot be double-booked in overlapping sessions (conflict flagged before save).
- Cancellation notifies all enrolled students; the session is not silently removed.
- Recurring sessions require a defined end date or end count.
- Scheduling actions are audit-logged with the actor, session, and timestamp.

### 1.2 Real-Time Q&A Configuration
**What it does:** Configures the real-time Q&A channel for live classes: whether Q&A is enabled, whether questions are moderated before display, anonymous question option, and upvoting of questions.

**Sub-features:**
- Q&A enable/disable per session or globally
- Moderation mode: instant display vs. teacher-moderated display
- Anonymous question option
- Question upvoting (students upvote useful questions)
- Question queue ordering (by upvotes, by time)
- Available on web
- Event logging (action performed)
- Audit logging of Q&A configuration

**Super Admin User Journey:**
1. Super Admin opens the Q&A configuration for a session (or the global default).
2. Enables Q&A and selects the moderation mode (instant or teacher-moderated).
3. Toggles the anonymous question option and upvoting.
4. Sets the queue ordering (by upvotes or by time).
5. Saves; the configuration applies to the session and is recorded.
6. Each configuration change is event-logged and audit-logged.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- Q&A disabled means no question channel exists for the session.
- In teacher-moderated mode, questions are not visible to the class until the teacher approves them.
- Anonymous questions hide the student's identity from the class but remain attributable in the backend log.
- Configuration changes are audit-logged with the session, the change, and the timestamp.

### 1.3 Interactive Whiteboard Settings
**What it does:** Configures the interactive whiteboard for live classes: enable/disable, student drawing permissions, whiteboard state persistence (saved with the recording), and whiteboard reset controls.

**Sub-features:**
- Whiteboard enable/disable per session or globally
- Student drawing permissions: none, request-to-draw, free drawing
- Whiteboard state saved with the session recording
- Whiteboard reset control for the teacher
- Available on web
- Event logging (action performed)
- Audit logging of whiteboard settings

**Super Admin User Journey:**
1. Super Admin opens the whiteboard settings for a session (or the global default).
2. Enables the whiteboard and sets student drawing permissions.
3. Chooses whether the whiteboard state is saved with the recording.
4. Saves; the settings apply to the session and are recorded.
5. Each settings change is event-logged and audit-logged.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- With student drawing set to "request-to-draw", a student's drawing is visible only after the teacher approves it.
- Whiteboard state saved with the recording is replayable in the recording playback.
- Settings changes are audit-logged with the session, the change, and the timestamp.

### 1.4 Recording Management
**What it does:** Manages session recordings: whether sessions are recorded, recording availability after the session, recording retention, and access control for the recording (enrolled students only, all subscribers, or restricted).

**Sub-features:**
- Recording enable/disable per session or globally
- Recording availability after session (immediate or after review)
- Recording retention period
- Recording access control: enrolled students, all subscribers, restricted
- Recording replacement (re-upload a corrected recording)
- Available on web
- Event logging (action performed)
- Audit logging of recording management

**Super Admin User Journey:**
1. Super Admin sets the recording policy (per session or globally): record on/off, availability, retention, access.
2. After a session, the recording is processed and made available per the policy.
3. For a recording that needs correction, Super Admin replaces it; the replacement is recorded.
4. Reviews the recordings list: status, availability, access scope.
5. Each recording action is event-logged and audit-logged.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- A session with recording disabled has no recording after it ends.
- Recordings are removed after the retention period elapses.
- Access control is enforced: a student outside the access scope cannot play the recording.
- Recording replacement preserves the original until the replacement is confirmed.
- Recording actions are audit-logged with the session, the action, and the timestamp.

### 1.5 Small Group Session Configuration
**What it does:** Configures small group sessions for personalized attention: group size limits, group formation (manual or auto by performance), session frequency, and teacher assignment.

**Sub-features:**
- Small group enable/disable
- Group size limits (min/max students per group)
- Group formation: manual assignment or auto by performance band
- Session frequency per group
- Teacher assignment per group
- Available on web
- Event logging (action performed)
- Audit logging of small group configuration

**Super Admin User Journey:**
1. Super Admin enables small group sessions and sets the group size limits.
2. Chooses the formation mode: manual (assign students to groups) or auto (by performance band).
3. Sets the session frequency and assigns teachers to groups.
4. Saves; groups are formed and scheduled per the configuration.
5. Each configuration change is event-logged and audit-logged.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- A group cannot exceed the max size; overflow students are placed in a new group or flagged.
- Auto formation by performance band uses the latest assessment data; students without data are flagged for manual placement.
- Configuration changes are audit-logged with the change, the affected groups, and the timestamp.
