## 3. Commission & Earnings Overview

### 3.1 Commission Breakdown
**What it does:** Shows the Affiliate their commission broken down by status: pending, earned, and paid. The Affiliate sees the amount in each bucket and the total. This gives the Affiliate a clear picture of their commission position at a glance.

**Sub-features:**
- Pending commission amount
- Earned commission amount
- Paid commission amount
- Total commission
- Breakdown by status
- Breakdown available on web and mobile
- Breakdown event logging (viewed)
- Audit logging of the commission breakdown

**Affiliate User Journey:**
1. Affiliate opens the dashboard.
2. The commission breakdown is shown.
3. The pending, earned, and paid amounts are shown.
4. The total commission is shown.
5. The breakdown by status is displayed.
6. Affiliate reviews their commission position.
7. Affiliate opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the breakdown events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- The commission is broken down by status.
- The total commission is shown.
- Breakdown events (viewed) are logged with the account and the timestamp.
- The commission breakdown is audit-logged with the account and the timestamp.

### 3.2 Earnings Summary
**What it does:** Shows the Affiliate a summary of their earnings over a selected period: total earnings, earnings per month, and the trend. The Affiliate can select the period and view the earnings trend. This helps the Affiliate understand their income over time.

**Sub-features:**
- Total earnings for the period
- Earnings per month
- Earnings trend
- Select the period
- Earnings summary visualization
- Summary available on web and mobile
- Summary event logging (viewed)
- Audit logging of the earnings summary

**Affiliate User Journey:**
1. Affiliate opens the dashboard.
2. The earnings summary is shown.
3. Affiliate selects the period.
4. The total earnings for the period are shown.
5. The earnings per month are shown.
6. The earnings trend is displayed.
7. Affiliate opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the summary events are recorded.

### 3.3 Top-Performing Courses Report
**What it does:** Shows the Affiliate which of their referred courses are performing best: the courses ranked by referrals, conversions, and commission generated. The Affiliate sees which courses drive the most value. This helps the Affiliate focus their promotion on the best-performing courses.

- Courses ranked by referrals
- Courses ranked by conversions
- Courses ranked by commission generated
- Top courses list
- View a course's performance
- Report available on web and mobile
- Report event logging (viewed)
- Audit logging of the top-performing courses report

**Affiliate User Journey:**
