## 2. Commission Calculator & Earnings

### 2.1 Commission Calculator
**What it does:** Lets the Affiliate calculate their potential commission: enter a course price and quantity, and the platform shows the commission they would earn based on their rate. The Affiliate can model different scenarios. This helps the Affiliate understand their earning potential before promoting.

**Sub-features:**
- Enter a course price
- Enter a quantity
- Commission calculated at the Affiliate's rate
- Scenario modeling
- Rate shown in the calculator
- Calculator available on web and mobile
- Calculator event logging (used)
- Audit logging of the commission calculator

**Affiliate User Journey:**
1. Affiliate opens the commission calculator.
2. Affiliate enters a course price.
3. Affiliate enters a quantity.
4. The commission is calculated at the Affiliate's rate.
5. Affiliate models different scenarios.
6. The rate is shown in the calculator.
7. Affiliate opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the calculator events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- The commission is calculated at the Affiliate's rate.
- Scenarios can be modeled.
- Calculator events (used) are logged with the account and the timestamp.
- The commission calculator is audit-logged with the account and the timestamp.

### 2.2 Earnings Statement
**What it does:** Shows the Affiliate a detailed earnings statement for a selected period: each commission entry with the customer, course, amount, and date. The Affiliate can view and download the statement. This provides a clear, itemized record of their earnings.

**Sub-features:**
- Detailed earnings statement
- Each commission entry with customer, course, amount, date
- Select the statement period
- View the statement
- Download the statement
- Statement available on web and mobile
- Statement event logging (viewed, downloaded)
- Audit logging of the earnings statement

**Affiliate User Journey:**
1. Affiliate opens the earnings statement.
2. Affiliate selects the statement period.
3. The detailed earnings statement is shown.
4. Each commission entry shows the customer, course, amount, and date.
5. Affiliate views the statement.
6. Affiliate downloads the statement.
7. Affiliate opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the statement events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- The statement is itemized per commission entry.
- The period can be selected.
- The statement can be downloaded.
- Statement events (viewed, downloaded) are logged with the account and the timestamp.
- The earnings statement is audit-logged with the account and the timestamp.

### 2.3 Commission Rate Details
**What it does:** Shows the Affiliate their current commission rate and how it is determined: the base rate, any tier-based increases, and the effective rate per course. The Affiliate sees exactly how their commission is computed. This provides transparency into their earning structure.
