## 4. Community Recognition & Moderation

### 4.1 Community Recognition
**What it does:** Recognizes the Student's contributions to the community: helpful answers, quality shared resources, and active participation. The Student earns community reputation and recognition (e.g., "Helpful Peer" highlights), which is shown on their profile. Recognition encourages positive contribution.

**Sub-features:**
- Community reputation from helpful answers
- Recognition for quality shared resources
- Active participation recognition
- "Helpful Peer" highlights
- Recognition shown on the profile
- Recognition history
- Recognition event logging (awarded)
- Audit logging of the community recognition

**Student User Journey:**
1. Student's answer is marked helpful by several peers; their reputation increases.
2. A shared resource is recognized for quality.
3. The Student's active participation is recognized.
4. The Student is highlighted as a "Helpful Peer".
5. The recognition is shown on the profile.
6. The recognition history lists past recognitions.
7. Student opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the recognition events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- Reputation is earned from helpful answers and quality contributions.
- Recognition is awarded per the platform's community rules.
- Recognition is shown on the Student's profile.
- The recognition history is retained.
- Recognition events (awarded) are logged with the contribution and the timestamp.
- The community recognition is audit-logged with the account, the contribution, and the timestamp.

### 4.2 Community Guidelines and Reporting
**What it does:** Keeps the community safe and useful with guidelines and reporting. The Student can see the community guidelines, and can report a post or user that violates them. Reported content is reviewed, and the Student is informed of the outcome. This maintains a respectful learning environment.

**Sub-features:**
- Community guidelines viewable
- Report a post for guideline violation
- Report a user for misconduct
- Reported content reviewed by the platform
- Outcome of a report communicated to the Student
- Repeat violations handled per the guidelines
- Report event logging (reported, reviewed, outcome)
- Audit logging of the community guidelines and reporting

**Student User Journey:**
1. Student opens "Community" → "Guidelines" and reads the rules.
2. Student sees an off-topic post and reports it.
3. The platform reviews the report.
4. The Student is informed of the outcome (post removed).
5. For serious misconduct, Student reports a user.
6. Repeat violations are handled per the guidelines.
7. Student opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the report events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- The community guidelines are viewable by all Students.
- A report requires a reason (guideline violated).
- Reported content is reviewed before action.
- The outcome of a report is communicated to the reporting Student.
- Report events (reported, reviewed, outcome) are logged with the report and the timestamp.
- The community guidelines and reporting is audit-logged with the account, the report, and the timestamp.

### 4.3 Content Moderation Status
**What it does:** Shows the Student the moderation status of their own community content: pending review, approved, or removed. If content is removed, the Student is told the reason. This transparency helps the Student understand the community rules and keep their contributions visible.

**Sub-features:**
- Moderation status of the Student's posts (pending, approved, removed)
- Reason shown when content is removed
- List of the Student's community content with status
- Appeal a removal (where allowed)
- Status updates in real time
- Status available on web and mobile
- Status event logging (status changed)
- Audit logging of the content moderation status

**Student User Journey:**
1. Student opens "Community" → "My content" and sees the status of their posts.
2. A new post is "pending review".
3. The post is approved; the status updates.
4. For a removed post, the reason is shown.
5. Where allowed, Student appeals a removal.
6. Student views the status on the mobile app.
7. Student opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the status events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- A post is pending, approved, or removed.
- A removal includes a reason.
- An appeal is allowed where the platform permits it.
- The status updates in real time.
- Status events (status changed) are logged with the content and the timestamp.
- The content moderation status is audit-logged with the account, the content, and the timestamp.
