## 2. Exam Results & Analytics

### 2.1 Exam Results View
**What it does:** Shows the Student the results of a completed exam: overall score, pass/fail, time taken, and a per-question breakdown with the Student's answer, the correct answer, and marks. The results are available immediately after submission (or after grading for short-answer questions).

**Sub-features:**
- Overall score and percentage
- Pass/fail status against the pass mark
- Time taken for the exam
- Per-question breakdown (Student answer, correct answer, marks)
- Section-wise score summary
- Results available immediately (auto-graded) or after grading (short answer)
- Retake option where allowed
- Results history list of all exams
- Results event logging (viewed, retaken)
- Audit logging of the exam results view

**Student User Journey:**
1. Student submits an exam and is redirected to the results page.
2. The page shows the overall score (72%), pass status, and time taken (24 minutes).
3. Student expands the per-question breakdown and reviews each question: their answer, the correct answer, and marks.
4. The section-wise summary shows strong performance in Algebra and weaker in Trigonometry.
5. Student opens the results history and sees all past exams with scores and dates.
6. Where a retake is allowed, Student clicks "Retake" and starts a new attempt.
7. Student opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the results events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- The pass/fail status is computed against the configured pass mark.
- Auto-graded questions show results immediately; short-answer questions show results after grading.
- A retake is allowed only where the exam permits it; the attempt count is tracked.
- The per-question breakdown shows the correct answer for learning.
- Results events (viewed, retaken) are logged with the exam and the timestamp.
- The exam results view is audit-logged with the account, the exam, and the timestamp.

### 2.2 Performance Analytics
**What it does:** Aggregates the Student's exam and assessment performance into analytics: score trends over time, subject-wise and topic-wise accuracy, strength and weakness identification, and comparison against targets. These analytics feed the dashboard, the progress module, and the AI Study Companion's recommendations.

**Sub-features:**
- Score trend over time (line chart)
- Subject-wise accuracy
- Topic-wise accuracy (strengths and weaknesses)
- Comparison against target scores
- Average score and best score
- Number of attempts per exam
- Weak-topic identification for focused revision
- Analytics feed the dashboard and AI Study Companion
- Analytics event logging (viewed)
- Audit logging of the performance analytics

**Student User Journey:**
1. Student opens the "Assessments" → "Analytics" page.
2. The score trend chart shows improvement over the last 8 exams.
3. The subject-wise accuracy shows Mathematics 70%, Physical Sciences 65%.
4. The topic-wise view highlights "Quadratic equations" as a weakness (58%) and "Linear functions" as a strength (85%).
5. The comparison against targets shows Mathematics at 71% vs a 75% target.
6. The dashboard and AI Study Companion use these analytics to recommend focused revision on weak topics.
7. Student opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the analytics view is recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- Analytics are computed from completed, graded exams and assessments.
- Topic-wise accuracy identifies strengths (above a threshold) and weaknesses (below a threshold).
- The comparison against targets uses the Student's recorded target scores.
- Analytics feed the dashboard and the AI Study Companion's recommendations.
- Analytics views are logged with the timestamp.
- The performance analytics is audit-logged with the account, the scope, and the timestamp.

### 2.3 Answer Review and Explanations
**What it does:** For each question in a completed exam, shows the Student a detailed explanation of the correct answer and why their answer was right or wrong. This turns each exam into a learning opportunity and is available for auto-graded and (after grading) short-answer questions.

**Sub-features:**
- Per-question explanation of the correct answer
- Explanation of why the Student's answer was incorrect
- Reference to the relevant concept/topic
- Link to related learning content (video, article)
- Available for auto-graded questions immediately
- Available for short-answer questions after grading
- Review accessible from the results and the results history
- Review event logging
- Audit logging of the answer review and explanations

**Student User Journey:**
1. Student opens a completed exam's results and selects a question they got wrong.
2. The explanation shows the correct answer and the reasoning behind it.
3. The explanation notes why the Student's answer was incorrect.
4. A reference to the relevant concept ("Quadratic equations — completing the square") is shown.
5. A link to a related video tutorial is provided; Student opens it to revise.
6. Student reviews another question and sees the explanation for a correct answer (reinforcement).
7. Student opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the review events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- Explanations are available for auto-graded questions immediately and for short-answer questions after grading.
- Each explanation references the relevant concept/topic.
- A link to related learning content is provided where available.
- Review is accessible from the results page and the results history.
- Review events are logged with the question and the timestamp.
- The answer review and explanations is audit-logged with the account, the question, and the timestamp.
