## 3. Meetings & Communication Preferences

### 3.1 Schedule a Meeting with the Teacher
**What it does:** Lets the Parent schedule a meeting with the child's teacher: a parent-teacher meeting to discuss the child's progress. The Parent proposes a time, the teacher confirms, and the meeting is added to both calendars. The Parent receives a reminder before the meeting. This supports in-person or virtual parent-teacher meetings.

**Sub-features:**
- Propose a meeting time with the teacher
- Teacher confirms the meeting
- Meeting added to both calendars
- Meeting reminder to the Parent
- Meeting type (in-person, virtual)
- Meetings available on web and mobile
- Meeting event logging (proposed, confirmed, held)
- Audit logging of the schedule a meeting with the teacher

**Parent User Journey:**
1. Parent opens the teacher communication section.
2. Parent proposes a meeting time with the teacher.
3. The teacher confirms the meeting.
4. The meeting is added to both calendars.
5. A meeting reminder is sent to the Parent.
6. The meeting type is set (virtual).
7. Parent opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the meeting events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- The meeting time is proposed by the Parent.
- The teacher confirms the meeting.
- A reminder is sent before the meeting.
- Meeting events (proposed, confirmed, held) are logged with the account and the timestamp.
- The schedule a meeting with the teacher is audit-logged with the account and the timestamp.

### 3.2 Meeting Notes and Follow-ups
**What it does:** Lets the Parent and the teacher record notes from the meeting and set follow-up actions. The notes are shared between the Parent and the teacher, and the follow-up actions are tracked until completed. This ensures the meeting outcomes are captured and acted on.

**Sub-features:**
- Record notes from the meeting
- Notes shared between Parent and teacher
- Set follow-up actions
- Follow-up action tracking
- Follow-up completion status
- Notes available on web and mobile
- Note event logging (recorded, followed up)
- Audit logging of the meeting notes and follow-ups

**Parent User Journey:**
1. After the meeting, Parent records notes.
2. The notes are shared with the teacher.
3. Parent sets follow-up actions.
4. The follow-up actions are tracked.
5. A follow-up is marked as completed.
6. Parent views the notes on the mobile app.
7. Parent opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the note events are recorded.

### 3.3 Communication Preferences
**What it does:** Lets the Parent set their communication preferences with teachers: preferred channels (in-app, email), preferred times for communication, and the types of updates they want to receive. The teachers' communication respects these preferences. This gives the Parent control over how they are contacted.

5. The preferences are applied to teacher communication.
