## 3. Account & System Alerts

### 3.1 Account Access Alerts
**What it does:** Alerts the Parent to account access issues affecting the child's account: a failed login attempt, a password change, a new device sign-in, or an account lock. The alert includes the details of the event and a link to the account security view. This helps the Parent keep the child's account secure.

**Sub-features:**
- Alert on a failed login attempt
- Alert on a password change
- Alert on a new device sign-in
- Alert on an account lock
- Alert with the event details
- Link to the account security view
- Alert event logging (sent, opened)
- Audit logging of the account access alerts

**Parent User Journey:**
1. A failed login attempt occurs; the Parent is alerted.
2. A password change occurs; the Parent is alerted.
3. A new device signs in; the Parent is alerted.
4. The account is locked; the Parent is alerted.
5. The alert shows the event details.
6. Parent taps the alert; the account security view opens.
7. Parent opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the alert events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- Alerts are sent on account access events.
- The alert includes the event details.
- A link to the account security view is included.
- Alert events (sent, opened) are logged with the account and the timestamp.
- The account access alerts is audit-logged with the account and the timestamp.

### 3.2 Subscription and Billing Alerts
**What it does:** Alerts the Parent to subscription and billing events for the child's account: an upcoming renewal, a failed payment, a subscription expiring soon, or a plan change. The alert includes the details and a link to the billing view. This helps the Parent manage the child's subscription without interruption.

**Sub-features:**
- Alert on an upcoming renewal
- Alert on a failed payment
- Alert on a subscription expiring soon
- Alert on a plan change
- Alert with the billing details
- Link to the billing view
- Alert event logging (sent, opened)
- Audit logging of the subscription and billing alerts

**Parent User Journey:**
1. A renewal is upcoming; the Parent is alerted.
2. A payment fails; the Parent is alerted.
3. The subscription is expiring soon; the Parent is alerted.
4. A plan change occurs; the Parent is alerted.
5. The alert shows the billing details.
6. Parent taps the alert; the billing view opens.
7. Parent opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the alert events are recorded.

### 3.3 System and Maintenance Alerts
**What it does:** Alerts the Parent to system and maintenance events that affect the platform: scheduled maintenance, a service outage, or a feature change. The alert includes the details and the expected duration. This keeps the Parent informed of platform availability affecting the child's study.

**Sub-features:**
- Alert on scheduled maintenance
- Alert on a service outage
- Alert on a feature change
- Alert with the details and expected duration
- Alert priority (info, important)
- Alert event logging (sent, viewed)
- Audit logging of the system and maintenance alerts

**Parent User Journey:**
1. Scheduled maintenance is announced; the Parent is alerted.
2. A service outage occurs; the Parent is alerted.
3. A feature change is announced; the Parent is alerted.
4. The alert shows the details and expected duration.
5. The alert priority is shown (important).
6. The alert is delivered via the Parent's chosen channels.
7. Parent opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the alert events are recorded.
