## 3. Student Progress & Performance

### 3.1 Student Progress Tracking
**What it does:** Shows the Training Institute each student's progress: the courses enrolled, the lessons completed, the percentage complete, and the time spent. The Institute can view a single student's progress or a cohort's aggregate. This gives the Institute visibility into how students are moving through the material.

**Sub-features:**
- Student progress view
- Courses enrolled and lessons completed
- Percentage complete shown
- Time spent shown
- Single student or cohort aggregate
- Progress by course
- Progress available on web and mobile
- Progress event logging (viewed)
- Audit logging of the student progress tracking

**Training Institute User Journey:**
1. Training Institute opens the student progress tracking.
2. The student progress view is shown.
3. The courses enrolled and lessons completed are shown.
4. The percentage complete is shown.
5. The time spent is shown.
6. Training Institute views a single student or a cohort aggregate.
7. Training Institute opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the progress events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- The progress is by course.
- The cohort aggregate is the average of member progress.
- Progress events (viewed) are logged with the account and the timestamp.
- The student progress tracking is audit-logged with the account and the timestamp.

### 3.2 Assessment Results
**What it does:** Shows the Training Institute the assessment results: each student's scores per assessment, the pass/fail status, and the class average. The Institute can view individual results or a summary across the cohort. This gives the Institute a view of student mastery.

- Scores per assessment per student
- Pass/fail status shown

**Training Institute User Journey:**
1. Training Institute opens the assessment results.
2. The assessment results view is shown.
3. The scores per assessment per student are shown.
4. The pass/fail status is shown.
5. The class average is shown.
6. Training Institute views individual or a cohort summary.
7. Training Institute opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the results events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- The pass/fail status is based on the assessment's pass mark.
- The class average is recalculated on each new result.
- Results events (viewed) are logged with the account and the timestamp.
- The assessment results is audit-logged with the account and the timestamp.

### 3.3 Completion Certificates
**What it does:** Shows the Training Institute the completion certificates: the students who have completed their courses, the certificate issued date, and the certificate status. The Institute can view a certificate, reissue it, or export the completion list. This documents the students' achievements.

- Completion certificates list
- Certificate issued date shown
- Certificate status shown
- View a certificate
- Reissue a certificate
- Export the completion list
- Certificates available on web and mobile

**Training Institute User Journey:**
1. Training Institute opens the completion certificates.
2. The completion certificates list is shown.
3. The certificate issued date is shown.
4. The certificate status is shown.
5. Training Institute views a certificate.
6. Training Institute reissues a certificate.
7. Training Institute opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the certificates events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- A certificate is issued only on course completion.
- A reissued certificate supersedes the previous one.
- Certificates events (viewed, reissued) are logged with the account and the timestamp.
- The completion certificates is audit-logged with the account and the timestamp.
