## 2. Study Groups Management

### 2.1 Group Creation & Approval
**What it does:** Manages study group creation and approval: students create or join groups by subject, groups require approval before activation, group size limits, and group dissolution.

**Sub-features:**
- Group creation by subject (student-initiated)
- Approval workflow: pending → approved → active, or rejected
- Group size limits (min/max members)
- Group join/leave rules
- Group dissolution (by owner or by admin)
- Available on web
- Event logging (action performed)
- Audit logging of study group creation/approval

**Super Admin User Journey:**
1. A student creates a study group by subject; it enters the pending state.
2. Super Admin reviews the pending group and approves or rejects it with a reason.
3. On approval the group becomes active; students can join within the size limits.
4. Super Admin sets the group size limits and join/leave rules.
5. For a group to be removed, Super Admin (or the owner) dissolves it; members are notified.
6. Reviews the groups list: status, membership, subject.
7. Each group action is event-logged and audit-logged.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- A pending group is not joinable until approved.
- A rejected group is not activated; the creator is notified with the reason.
- A group at max size rejects further joins; a group below min size is flagged.
- Dissolution notifies all members; the group's history is preserved per retention policy.
- Group actions are audit-logged with the group, the actor, and the timestamp.

### 2.2 Group Chat Moderation
**What it does:** Moderates group chat: keyword filtering, message reporting, member muting/removal, and chat visibility controls.

**Sub-features:**
- Keyword/profanity filtering on group messages
- Message reporting (members report inappropriate messages)
- Member muting (temporary) and removal (permanent)
- Chat visibility controls (active, paused, archived)
- Moderation queue for reported messages
- Available on web
- Event logging (action performed)
- Audit logging of group chat moderation

**Super Admin User Journey:**
1. Super Admin configures the keyword/profanity filtering for group chat.
2. Reviews the moderation queue of reported messages.
3. Takes action on a report: remove the message, mute the member, or remove the member.
4. Sets the chat visibility (active, paused, archived) for a group.
5. Reviews the moderation log: reports, actions, members affected.
6. Each moderation action is event-logged and audit-logged.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- A filtered message is held or removed per the filtering policy; the sender is notified where appropriate.
- A muted member cannot post for the mute duration; a removed member loses group access.
- Moderation actions are reversible where sensible (un-mute) and recorded.
- Moderation actions are audit-logged with the group, the message/member, the action, and the timestamp.

### 2.3 Resource Sharing Controls
**What it does:** Controls resource sharing within study groups: what can be shared (notes, files, links), file type/size limits, sharing scope (group-only, public), and shared resource moderation.

**Sub-features:**
- Shareable content types (notes, files, links)
- File type and size limits
- Sharing scope: group-only or public library
- Shared resource moderation (approve/flag/remove)
- Shared resource attribution (who shared)
- Available on web
- Event logging (action performed)
- Audit logging of resource sharing controls

**Super Admin User Journey:**
1. Super Admin configures the shareable content types and file type/size limits.
2. Sets the sharing scope (group-only or public library).
3. Reviews shared resources in the moderation view: approve, flag, or remove.
4. Verifies each shared resource carries its attribution (who shared it).
5. Reviews the sharing log: resources, sharers, actions.
6. Each control change and moderation action is event-logged and audit-logged.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- A file exceeding the size limit or of a disallowed type is rejected on upload.
- A group-only resource is not visible outside the group; a public resource enters the public library.
- A removed resource is taken down; the removal is recorded.
- Control changes and moderation actions are audit-logged with the resource, the actor, and the timestamp.

### 2.4 Group Study Session Scheduling
**What it does:** Schedules group study sessions: members schedule study sessions within the group, session reminders, and session attendance tracking.

**Sub-features:**
- Group study session scheduling (by members)
- Session reminders to group members
- Session attendance tracking
- Session history per group
- Available on web
- Event logging (action performed)
- Audit logging of group study session scheduling

**Super Admin User Journey:**
1. Super Admin enables group study session scheduling for active groups.
2. Members schedule a study session; the platform sends reminders to group members.
3. Attendance is tracked for each session.
4. Super Admin reviews the session history per group: sessions, attendance.
5. Each scheduling and tracking event is event-logged; configuration is audit-logged.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- Only members of an active group can schedule a session for it.
- A session reminder is sent to all group members; a member who opted out of reminders is not spammed.
- Attendance is recorded per member; a no-show is distinguishable from an absent-by-opt-out.
- Configuration is audit-logged with the change and the timestamp.
