## 1. Subscription Plans & Selection

### 1.1 Membership Plans Overview
**What it does:** Shows the Student the available membership plans (Academic and Professional) with their pricing, included subjects, and features. The Student can compare plans, see what is included in each, and understand the value of each tier before subscribing. Plans are configured by the platform (grade-wise and subject-wise pricing for Academic, course-wise for Professional).

**Sub-features:**
- List of available membership plans (Academic and Professional)
- Plan pricing (grade-wise and subject-wise for Academic, course-wise for Professional)
- Subjects and features included in each plan
- Compare plans side by side
- Highlight the Student's current plan
- Plan availability by grade and subject
- Plan detail view (what's included)
- Plan event logging (viewed, compared)
- Audit logging of the membership plans overview

**Student User Journey:**
1. Student opens "Subscription" → "Plans" and sees the available plans.
2. Each plan shows its price, included subjects, and features.
3. Student compares two plans side by side.
4. The Student's current plan is highlighted.
5. Student opens a plan's detail view to see exactly what is included.
6. Student sees which plans are available for their grade and subjects.
7. Student opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the plan events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- Plans are configured by the platform; the Student views them, not edits them.
- Academic pricing is grade-wise and subject-wise; Professional is course-wise.
- A plan's included subjects and features are shown clearly.
- The Student's current plan is highlighted in the list.
- Plan events (viewed, compared) are logged with the plan and the timestamp.
- The membership plans overview is audit-logged with the account, the plan, and the timestamp.

### 1.2 Subscribe to a Plan
**What it does:** Lets the Student subscribe to a membership plan. The Student selects a plan, chooses the subjects (for Academic) or courses (for Professional), reviews the order, and completes payment. On success, the subscription is activated and the Student gains access to the included content.

**Sub-features:**
- Select a plan to subscribe to
- Choose subjects (Academic) or courses (Professional)
- Review the order (plan, subjects, price, duration)
- Complete payment (see Payments & Billing)
- Subscription activated on successful payment
- Access to included content granted on activation
- Confirmation of the new subscription
- Subscribe event logging (selected, order reviewed, activated)
- Audit logging of the subscribe to a plan

**Student User Journey:**
1. Student selects the "Option 2 — 3 Subjects" plan.
2. Student chooses Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
3. Student reviews the order (plan, 3 subjects, price, 1 month).
4. Student completes the payment.
5. On success, the subscription is activated.
6. Student gains access to the three subjects' content.
7. A confirmation of the new subscription is shown.
8. Student opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the subscribe events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- A subscription requires a plan and the selected subjects/courses.
- The order is reviewed before payment.
- The subscription is activated only on successful payment.
- Access to included content is granted on activation.
- Subscribe events (selected, order reviewed, activated) are logged with the plan and the timestamp.
- The subscribe to a plan is audit-logged with the account, the plan, and the timestamp.

### 1.3 Upgrade and Add Subjects
**What it does:** Lets the Student upgrade their Academic subscription or add new subjects to it. The Student can move to a higher plan or add subjects to the current plan, paying the difference where applicable. The upgrade takes effect immediately and expands the Student's access.

**Sub-features:**
- Upgrade to a higher Academic plan
- Add new subjects to the current Academic subscription
- Pay the difference for an upgrade (where applicable)
- Upgrade takes effect immediately
- Access expands to the new plan/subjects
- Current plan and added subjects shown
- Upgrade event logging (upgraded, subject added)
- Audit logging of the upgrade and add subjects

**Student User Journey:**
1. Student opens "Subscription" → "Upgrade" and sees the higher plans.
2. Student upgrades from "Option 1" to "Option 2" and adds a subject.
3. Student pays the difference for the upgrade.
4. The upgrade takes effect immediately.
5. Student's access expands to the new plan and the added subject.
6. The current plan and added subjects are shown.
7. Student opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the upgrade events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- An upgrade moves the Student to a higher plan or adds subjects.
- The difference is paid where applicable.
- The upgrade takes effect immediately.
- Access expands to the new plan and subjects.
- Upgrade events (upgraded, subject added) are logged with the plan and the timestamp.
- The upgrade and add subjects is audit-logged with the account, the plan, and the timestamp.
