## 2. Study Reminders & Alerts

### 2.1 Study Reminders
**What it does:** Sends the Student study reminders to keep them on track: daily study goal reminders, study plan reminders, and streak preservation alerts. The Student configures the reminder times and the platform sends reminders at the set times. This supports consistent daily study.

**Sub-features:**
- Daily study goal reminders
- Study plan reminders
- Streak preservation alerts
- Configure reminder times
- Reminder channels (in-app, push, email)
- Pause reminders for a period
- Reminder event logging (sent, opened)
- Audit logging of the study reminders

**Student User Journey:**
1. Student configures a daily study reminder at 6 PM.
2. The reminder is sent at 6 PM.
3. A study plan reminder is sent for the day's plan.
4. A streak preservation alert is sent when the streak is at risk.
5. Student pauses reminders for a day.
6. The reminder channels are in-app, push, and email.
7. Student opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the reminder events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- Reminders are sent at the times configured by the Student.
- A streak preservation alert is sent when the streak is at risk.
- Reminders can be paused for a period.
- Reminder events (sent, opened) are logged with the account and the timestamp.
- The study reminders is audit-logged with the account and the timestamp.

### 2.2 Exam and Deadline Alerts
**What it does:** Alerts the Student about upcoming exams and deadlines: mock exam reminders, past paper deadlines, and assignment due dates. The Student is alerted before the event with a configurable lead time, and the alert links to the relevant exam or task. This prevents missed deadlines.

- Mock exam reminders

**Student User Journey:**
1. An upcoming exam alert is sent to the Student.
2. A mock exam reminder is sent before the mock.
3. An assignment due date alert is sent.
4. The lead time is configurable by the Student.
5. Student taps the alert; the relevant exam opens.
6. The alert channels are in-app, push, and email.
7. Student opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the alert events are recorded.

**What it does:** Alerts the Student on performance and progress events: a drop in performance, a milestone reached, a target exam score update, or a study goal completed. The Student is informed of significant changes so they can adjust their study. Alerts are actionable and link to the relevant analytics.
