## 4. Interactive Whiteboard & Collaboration

### 4.1 Interactive Whiteboard
**What it does:** Provides an interactive whiteboard in live sessions where the instructor can draw, annotate, and present worked examples. The Student can view the whiteboard in real time, and where enabled, annotate or request the instructor to clarify a step. The whiteboard makes complex explanations visual.

**Sub-features:**
- Interactive whiteboard in the session
- Instructor draws and annotates in real time
- Student views the whiteboard live
- Student annotation (where enabled)
- Request the instructor to clarify a step
- Whiteboard content saved with the session
- Whiteboard available on web and mobile
- Whiteboard event logging (annotated, clarified)
- Audit logging of the interactive whiteboard

**Student User Journey:**
1. The instructor opens the whiteboard and draws a worked example.
2. Student views the whiteboard in real time.
3. Where enabled, Student adds an annotation to a step.
4. Student requests the instructor to clarify a step.
5. The whiteboard content is saved with the session.
6. Student views the whiteboard on the mobile app.
7. Student opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the whiteboard events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- The whiteboard is controlled by the instructor; the Student views it live.
- Student annotation is available only where enabled.
- A clarification request is sent to the instructor.
- The whiteboard content is saved with the session.
- Whiteboard events (annotated, clarified) are logged with the session and the timestamp.
- The interactive whiteboard is audit-logged with the account, the session, and the timestamp.

### 4.2 Breakout and Group Activities
**What it does:** Supports breakout rooms and group activities in live sessions. The instructor can split the Students into small groups for discussion or problem solving, and the Student joins their breakout room. The Student's group activity participation is recorded.

**Sub-features:**
- Breakout rooms in a live session
- Student assigned to a breakout group
- Join the breakout room
- Group discussion in the breakout room
- Return to the main session
- Group activity participation recorded
- Breakout event logging (assigned, joined, returned)
- Audit logging of the breakout and group activities

**Student User Journey:**
1. The instructor starts a breakout activity; Student is assigned to a group.
2. Student joins the breakout room with their group.
3. The group discusses the problem in the breakout room.
4. The instructor ends the breakout; Student returns to the main session.
5. The group activity participation is recorded.
6. Student opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the breakout events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- Breakout rooms are created by the instructor.
- The Student is assigned to a group and joins the breakout room.
- The Student returns to the main session when the breakout ends.
- Group activity participation is recorded.
- Breakout events (assigned, joined, returned) are logged with the session and the timestamp.
- The breakout and group activities is audit-logged with the account, the session, and the timestamp.

### 4.3 Session Feedback and Ratings
**What it does:** Lets the Student give feedback and a rating after a live session. The Student rates the session and the instructor, and provides optional comments. Feedback is anonymous to the instructor and helps improve future sessions. The Student can see their own submitted feedback.

**Sub-features:**
- Rate a session after it ends
- Rate the instructor
- Provide optional feedback comments
- Feedback anonymous to the instructor
- Feedback submitted once per session
- View the Student's submitted feedback
- Feedback event logging (submitted)
- Audit logging of the session feedback and ratings

**Student User Journey:**
1. After a live session, Student is prompted to give feedback.
2. Student rates the session (4/5) and the instructor (5/5).
3. Student adds an optional comment ("Great explanation of the theorem").
4. The feedback is submitted anonymously to the instructor.
5. The feedback is submitted once for the session.
6. Student views their submitted feedback.
7. Student opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the feedback events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- Feedback is available after the session ends.
- The rating is on the platform's scale.
- Feedback is anonymous to the instructor.
- Feedback is submitted once per session.
- Feedback events (submitted) are logged with the session and the timestamp.
- The session feedback and ratings is audit-logged with the account, the session, and the timestamp.
