## 1. Linking Child Accounts

### 1.1 Send a Link Request
**What it does:** Lets the Parent send a link request to a child's account. The Parent enters the child's registered email or account ID, and the platform sends a link invitation to the child. The request is pending until the child (or a guardian on the child's account) accepts it. This is the first step in connecting a child's account to the Parent's.

**Sub-features:**
- Send a link request by the child's email or account ID
- Link invitation sent to the child
- Request status (pending, accepted, declined, expired)
- Multiple link requests can be sent
- Resend a pending request
- Request expiry
- Link request event logging (sent, resent)
- Audit logging of the send a link request

**Parent User Journey:**
1. Parent opens "Children" → "Link a Child".
2. Parent enters the child's registered email.
3. A link invitation is sent to the child.
4. The request status is "pending".
5. Parent can resend a pending request.
6. The request expires after the platform's window.
7. Parent opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the link request events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- The link request is sent to the child's registered email or account ID.
- The request is pending until accepted.
- A pending request can be resent.
- The request expires after the platform's window.
- Link request events (sent, resent) are logged with the account and the timestamp.
- The send a link request is audit-logged with the account and the timestamp.

### 1.2 Child Accepts the Link
**What it does:** Handles the child's acceptance of a link request. When the child (or a guardian on the child's account) accepts the invitation, the child's account is linked to the Parent's. The Parent is notified of the acceptance and can then view the child's monitoring dashboard. This completes the linking process.

**Sub-features:**
- Child accepts the link invitation
- Child's account linked to the Parent's
- Parent notified of the acceptance
- Link effective immediately on acceptance
- Child can decline the invitation
- Link event logging (accepted, declined)
- Audit logging of the child accepts the link

**Parent User Journey:**
1. The child receives the link invitation.
2. The child accepts the invitation.
3. The child's account is linked to the Parent's.
4. The Parent is notified of the acceptance.
5. The Parent can now view the child's monitoring dashboard.
6. If the child declines, the Parent is notified.
7. Parent opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the link events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- The link is effective immediately on acceptance.
- The Parent is notified of the acceptance or decline.
- The child can decline the invitation.
- Link events (accepted, declined) are logged with the account and the timestamp.
- The child accepts the link is audit-logged with the account and the timestamp.

### 1.3 Link Multiple Children
**What it does:** Lets the Parent link multiple children's accounts to their Parent account. The Parent can link each child in turn and see all linked children in one list. Each child has their own monitoring dashboard, and the Parent can switch between children. This supports families with more than one child on the platform.

**Sub-features:**
- Link multiple children's accounts
- List of all linked children
- Switch between linked children
- Each child has their own dashboard
- Maximum linked children limit
- Link event logging (child linked)
- Audit logging of the link multiple children

**Parent User Journey:**
1. Parent links their first child's account.
2. Parent links a second child's account.
3. The list of all linked children is shown.
4. Parent switches between the children.
5. Each child has their own monitoring dashboard.
6. The maximum linked children limit is enforced.
7. Parent opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the link events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- Multiple children can be linked to one Parent account.
- Each child has their own dashboard.
- A maximum linked children limit is enforced.
- Link events (child linked) are logged with the account and the timestamp.
- The link multiple children is audit-logged with the account and the timestamp.
