## 1. Custom Branding Configuration

### 1.1 Institute Logo and Colors
**What it does:** The Super Admin configures the institute's logo and color palette so the platform reflects the institute's brand identity.

**Sub-features:**
- Logo upload: the institute logo uploaded for the platform
- Primary color: the primary brand color
- Secondary color: the secondary brand color
- Accent color: the accent color for calls to action
- Background color: the background color for branded surfaces
- Text color: the text color for branded surfaces
- Available on web
- Event logging (action performed)
- Audit logging of institute logo and colors

**Super Admin User Journey:**
1. As a Super Admin, open the institute branding configuration.
2. Upload the institute logo.
3. Set the primary, secondary, accent, background, and text colors.
4. Save and verify the platform reflects the institute's brand.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- A logo must be in an allowed format (PNG, SVG) and within the size limit.
- A primary color is required; the other colors have sensible defaults.
- A color is stored as a hex value.
- A contrast ratio below the accessibility threshold raises a warning.
- A logo change applies to all branded surfaces on the next load.
- A color change applies to all branded surfaces on the next load.
- Configuration changes are audit-logged with the actor and timestamp.

### 1.2 Custom Domain
**What it does:** The Super Admin configures a custom domain so the institute's learners access the platform on the institute's own domain.

**Sub-features:**
- Domain assignment: the custom domain assigned to the institute
- DNS verification: the verification of the domain's DNS records
- SSL provisioning: the SSL certificate provisioning for the domain
- Domain status: the status of the custom domain (pending, active, failed)
- Domain fallback: the fallback to the platform domain on failure
- Available on web
- Event logging (action performed)
- Audit logging of custom domain

**Super Admin User Journey:**
1. As a Super Admin, open the custom domain configuration.
2. Assign the custom domain (learn.institutename.com) to the institute.
3. Verify the DNS records and provision SSL.
4. Save and verify the domain is active and serves the branded platform.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- A custom domain must be unique across institutes.
- A domain is active only after DNS verification and SSL provisioning succeed.
- A domain in pending status serves the platform domain as fallback.
- A domain in failed status shows the failure reason and serves the fallback.
- A domain change does not affect existing sessions until the next load.
- A domain removal reverts the institute to the platform domain.
- Configuration changes are audit-logged with the actor and timestamp.

### 1.3 Branded Certificates
**What it does:** The Super Admin configures branded certificates so completed courses issue certificates carrying the institute's branding.

**Sub-features:**
- Certificate template: the certificate template with institute branding
- Certificate logo: the institute logo on the certificate
- Certificate colors: the colors applied to the certificate
- Certificate text: the certificate text and issuer name
- Certificate enablement: branded certificates toggled on or off
- Available on web
- Event logging (action performed)
- Audit logging of branded certificates

**Super Admin User Journey:**
1. As a Super Admin, open the branded certificate configuration.
2. Select the certificate template and apply the institute logo and colors.
3. Set the certificate text and issuer name.
4. Save and verify a completed course issues a branded certificate.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- A branded certificate is issued only when enablement is on.
- A certificate template must be selected before issuance.
- A certificate carries the institute logo and colors from the branding configuration.
- A certificate text is rendered with the learner's name and course.
- A certificate is immutable once issued; a re-issue creates a new certificate.
- A certificate with no template falls back to the default template.
- Configuration changes are audit-logged with the actor and timestamp.

### 1.4 Customized Email Templates
**What it does:** The Super Admin configures customized email templates so transactional and marketing emails carry the institute's branding.

**Sub-features:**
- Email template selection: the email templates customized per event
- Email branding: the logo and colors applied to emails
- Email sender: the sender name and address per institute
- Email content: the email content customized per institute
- Email preview: the preview of the branded email
- Available on web
- Event logging (action performed)
- Audit logging of customized email templates

**Super Admin User Journey:**
1. As a Super Admin, open the customized email template configuration.
2. Select the email templates to customize per event.
3. Apply the institute branding and set the sender.
4. Preview the branded email and save.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- An email template is customized per event type (welcome, certificate, reminder).
- An email branding applies the institute logo and colors.
- An email sender must be a verified address for the institute.
- An email content is rendered with the learner's and institute's details.
- An email preview reflects the current branding before sending.
- An email with no customized template falls back to the platform default.
- Configuration changes are audit-logged with the actor and timestamp.
