## 3. Cognitive & Behavioral Insights

### 3.1 Cognitive Insights
**What it does:** Provides the Parent with cognitive insights about the child's learning: comprehension levels, retention patterns, and how the child approaches different question types. The Parent sees which cognitive skills are strong and which need development. This helps the Parent understand how the child learns.

**Sub-features:**
- Comprehension level insights
- Retention patterns
- Question-type performance
- Cognitive skill strengths
- Cognitive skill development areas
- Insights available on web and mobile
- Insight event logging (viewed)
- Audit logging of the cognitive insights

**Parent User Journey:**
1. Parent opens the child's cognitive insights.
2. The comprehension level insights are shown.
3. The retention patterns are displayed.
4. The question-type performance is shown.
5. The cognitive skill strengths are listed.
6. The development areas are listed.
7. Parent opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the insight events are recorded.

**Rules & Edge Cases:**
- The insights are based on the child's assessment and activity data.
- The cognitive skills are categorized.
- Insight events (viewed) are logged with the account and the timestamp.
- The cognitive insights is audit-logged with the account and the timestamp.

### 3.2 Behavioral Insights
**What it does:** Provides the Parent with behavioral insights about the child's study habits: consistency, focus patterns, and engagement trends. The Parent sees how the child's study behavior is changing over time and can encourage positive habits. This helps the Parent support the child's study discipline.

- Study consistency insights
- Focus patterns
- Engagement trends
- Habit formation indicators
- Behavioral trend over time
- Insights available on web and mobile
- Insight event logging (viewed)
- Audit logging of the behavioral insights

**Parent User Journey:**
1. Parent opens the child's behavioral insights.
2. The study consistency insights are shown.
3. The focus patterns are displayed.
4. The engagement trends are shown.
5. The habit formation indicators are listed.
6. The behavioral trend over time is displayed.
7. Parent opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the insight events are recorded.

### 3.3 Insight Alerts
**What it does:** Alerts the Parent to significant cognitive or behavioral insights: a notable improvement, a concerning decline, or a new pattern detected. The Parent is notified in-app and, where enabled, by email. This keeps the Parent aware of important changes in the child's learning.

**Sub-features:**
- Alert on a notable improvement
- Alert on a concerning decline
- Alert on a new pattern detected
- In-app and email alert channels
- Alert links to the relevant insight
- Alert event logging (sent, opened)
- Audit logging of the insight alerts

**Parent User Journey:**
1. A notable improvement is detected; the Parent is alerted.
2. A concerning decline is detected; the Parent is alerted.
3. A new pattern is detected; the Parent is alerted.
4. The alerts are in-app and email.
5. Parent taps an alert; the relevant insight opens.
6. The alert events are recorded.
7. Parent opens Profile → "Activity" and confirms the alert events are recorded.
